Keeping you going throughout your Monday madness with our favorite clicks, bits, and tips to kick off the week.
Sometimes we're told to not ask questions, to sit quietly and just consume, accept or disregard. But that kind of goes against our nature. Gloria and I like to ask questions ("Where'd you get that bag?" "Where's that food from?"), and today, the Monday Mooboster is dedicated to just that - questioning, dissecting, breaking down, and understanding.
If you're into food and like to salivate over Yelp pictures of the finest restaurants in the US, you've probably heard of Alinea (their Yelp page has almost 2000 photos). It's been awarded Michelin stars since 2011, and has garnered the coveted three star rating - a feat only 10 restaurants in all of the US have managed this year. On top of those stellar accolades, Alinea has been consistantly ranked among the 50 best restaurants in the entire world and has been ranked as the numero uno resto in North America twice. If they were an evil villain their means to take over the world would be edible helium-filled balloons and liquid nitrogen. Fittingly, a seat at an Alinea dinner costs a pretty penny - upwards of $200 dollars depending on the night and your party size, but don't worry - you can now cook like Grant Achatz at home, sort of.
Alinea has released ebooks detailing their amazing dishes and how to make them. The recipes are not adapted to be prepared in a home kitchen, but this way you get to see exactly how they're made, exactly what ingredients go into each dish. The best part about ebook aside from the beautiful photographs and recipes is the price. You can pay what you wish for the book, and if enough of the books end up selling then Alinea will continue offering the ebooks for purchase. Get on it here: https://store.nextrestaurant.com/#/
Monday Moodbooster number dos this week is a little segment on Vogue.com that I've recently become obsessed with called 73 Questions With... Where an interviewer shoots off quick packed questions with different celebrities. Questions range from favorite films to the best surprise they've ever gotten. Although it's a tad scripted, it's fun and fast - an easy-to-watch interview when you need a break from your workload, and it's totally free. For a quickfire sit down with my current #WCW, Olivia Munn, watch the segment below. See what makes up Blake Lively and Sara Jessica Parker in 73 questions in other segments from this season.
