We here at The Blvd know how gaga everyone is for Frank Coffee Scrub. Heck, Gloria even wrote a glowing review of the glowing skin it gave her here. But today, I'm going to teach you how to DIY the heck outta your own leftover coffee grinds to make your own coffee scrubs at home, because why not save money and have glowing skin?
If you make coffee at home daily, you're tossing out cups and cups of potential beauty product! Coffee scrubs are great for exfoliating dry skin, lightening stretch marks and scars, and improving eczema, psoriasis, acne and circulation. Talk about a wonder product. The best part about this DIY recipe is that you won't have to spend much to get the glowy results of the beauty blogger favorite.
And, if you're like me - stuck in NYC with potentially polar-like temperatures sweeping through in the next few days, this weekend might be the best opportunity to whip up some scrub and make a spa night (weekend?) of it.
DIY Coffee Scrub
1/2 Cup of Used Coffee Grounds
1/2 Cup of Unused Coffee Grounds
3 Tablespoons of Coarse Salt or Turbinado Sugar
6 Tablespoons of Coconut, Sweet Almond, Macadamia or Jojoba Oil
1 Tablespoon of Your Favorite Essential Oil to Scent - Coconut pairs well with citrus oils for a tropical scent, and a few drops of peppermint oil make a refreshing and soothing scrub
Mix everything together in a bowl and transfer to an airtight jar. Mason jars work especially well with this mixture. Then get in the shower, wet your skin and start scrubbing!
